Barr Engineering Posts Nearly 30 Job Openings in NE Minnesota!

Barr Engineering provides engineering and environmental consulting services to clients across the Midwest, throughout the Americas, and around the world. Barr has been employee owned since 1966 and trace our origins to the early 1900s. Working together, our 500 engineers, scientists, and technical specialists help clients develop, manage, and restore natural resources.

Barr’s project teams serve the power, mining, and fuels industries, natural-resource-management organizations, and others with complex problems. Our project sites range from iron-ore mines in South America to wind-power farms in South Dakota, from manufacturing facilities in California to oil-sands fields in western Canada.

Heating the Midwest Conference - 4/25/12

Heating the Midwest (HTM) is a group of volunteers with a serious interest in growing awareness and usage of biomass thermal fuel for heat in the Midwest.

Our Mission:
“To advance biomass thermal heating in the Midwest for a more sustainable future, while improving the economic, environmental and social well-being of the region.”

Driven and directed by a dedicated Steering Committee, Heating the Midwest includes industry, government, non-profit organizations, university representatives and tribal government representatives. It is an efficient group of biomass advocates working to promote biomass to a larger constituency, including government policy makers and entities, consumers and businesses in the Midwest.

 

Join us in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, for the “Heating the Midwest: Building the Vision” Conference on April 25 – 27, 2012.

2012 Minnesota Cup - Accepting Entries March 26th - May 18th

The Minnesota Cup is an annual, statewide competition that seeks out aspiring entrepreneurs and their breakthrough ideas. We are looking for the next great entrepreneurial success story in our state.

This competition is for all entrepreneurs, whether your breakthrough idea is high tech or no tech, whether you are just putting your ideas into a business plan or if you've been out building your venture.

The 2012 competition will launch March 26th and entries will be accepted through May 18th. Send an email to support@breakthroughideas.org if you would like to be placed on the notification list for the 2012 competition.
