APEX is Growing

APEX New Member Recruitment Events

As APEX grows, we are confident that the regional economy will continue to grow along with us, and we would like to involve you and your business in supporting this success.  Beginning again this fall, APEX will host a series of new member recruitment receptions aimed at sharing our mission and vision with the businesses and communities of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.  Existing members will be on hand to discuss their involvement in APEX and the results they have seen, and Rob West will review the organization’s accomplishments and core objectives for the coming year.  The first in this series of recruitment activities will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. at the Kitchi Gammi Club in Duluth.  Other activities will be conducted throughout the region through the end of the year and on into the Spring of 2009.  If you or any of your contacts are interested in learning more about APEX and how we can support your success, please email Sandy Johnson to receive your invitation today: Sandy@apexgetsbusiness.com

"Career Development for the 21st Century" Career Fair

In recognition of Disability Mentoring Day, Governor Tim Pawlenty will proclaim November 13, 2008 as the "Arrowhead Region Disability Mentoring Day" in the State of Minnesota. The Premier Arrowhead Region “Career Development for the 21st Century” Career Fair will welcome high school and college students, qualified job seekers, and veterans with disabilities to explore career pathways, mentoring; internships and employment opportunities in Minnesota.

Global Understanding Series, Workshop 1: "Focus on India"
With all of the current and pending developments in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, it is becoming more and more apparent that we are indeed competing in a global economy.  On December 11, 2008, Hibbing Community College and a coalition of area businesses and nonprofit organizations will host the first workshop in a series aimed introducing local citizens and businesses to global trade and the cultural opportunities that come with it.  The first event in this “Global Understanding Series” will focus on India and will include panel discussions, expert presentations, ethnic food and a cultural showcase that are sure to be both fun and educational.

Twin Ports Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club
APEX is proud to support the Twin Ports Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club, a community-based resource group for local inventors and entrepreneurs. The Club holds regular meetings on the second Tuesday of every month, at 6:00 p.m. on the Superior campus of Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC). Refreshments are served and guest speakers offer valuable insights on an array of topics, such as patent law, rapid prototyping, international distribution, and more. Join us for the next meeting and share your vision with like-minded individuals from throughout the region!
