George Goldfarb
George Goldfarb is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of maurices. He has been with the Company for over 20 years and assumed the role of COO in 2009 after holding the position of SVP/CFO for the previous seven years.
In his current role, George oversees maurices operations including Finance and Accounting, Real Estate, Store Design, Facilities, Logistics, Purchasing, Information Technology, Store Operations and Human Resources. During his tenure with maurices, he has held the positions of Senior Director of Planning and Allocation, Director of Real Estate, Director of Financial Planning and Reporting, and Manager of Corporate Taxation.
Prior to joining the maurices team, George worked in Public Accounting. He holds a Bachelor's of Accounting degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. His leadership and commitment to non-profit and business philanthropy groups proves to be an asset to the organization and community. A few of the organizations George is involved with include:
- APEX — Area Partnership for Economic Expansion Board Chair
- DLEF — Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund Board Member, Chair of Grants Committee
- LSBE — Labovitz School of Business and Economics Board Member

Steve LaFlamme
President, Oneida Realty
Mr. LaFlamme was a former board member at the International level of the Building Owners and Managers Association, the Greater Downtown Council of Duluth, the Duluth Parking Commission and APEX. Mr. LaFlamme is an active board member of the Duluth area YMCA, the Duluth Steam Coop Association, the Duluth Building Owners and Managers Association, and the APEX Strategic Resource Group.

Don Monaco
Owner, Monaco Air Duluth
Monaco is the owner of Monaco Air Duluth, LLC, a full-service, fixed-base operator established in November, 2005, at the Duluth International Airport serving airline, military, and general aviation customers. Monaco received the 2009 Joel Labovitz Emerging Entrepreneur Success Award as a result of his efforts.
Previously, he spent 28 years as an international information technology and business management consultant, including 18 years as partner and senior executive with Accenture while living in Chicago. He holds a commercial pilot certificate and owns a Cirrus airplane. Monaco earned his master's and bachelor's degrees in computer science engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Monaco serves as a Commissioner on the Metropolitan Airports Commission in the Twin Cities; Vice-President of the Duluth Economic Development Authority; President of the Monaco Air Foundation and the Waterfront Plaza Condominium Association; Secretary-Treasurer of the Miller-Dwan Foundation; Treasurer of the Duluth Aviation Institute and Honor Flight Northland; and as a member of the Lake Superior College's Center for Advance Aviation Steering Committee.

Laura Sieger
Vice President, WestmorelandFlint
Laura Sieger, Vice President of WestmorelandFlint, has been with the agency since 2003. She is primarily responsible for strategic communications planning and brand management for regional and national clients, as well as managing the operations of the agency. She has a deep passion for growing her client’s business and contributing to the overall growth of our region. From healthcare to finance and retail to nonprofit, she has a deep understanding of the various industry segments in our region.
Prior to joining the agency, Sieger spent 15 years in marketing, public relations, and fundraising management positions in the tourism, education, retail and nonprofit sectors.
She holds a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and an M.A. in Management. Sieger is a graduate of the Blandin Community Leadership Program and the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Duluth program. She received the Duluth News Tribune’s 20 under 40 Award and was recognized as a regional thought leader by Business North. Sieger also enjoys guest lecturing at local universities and presenting to community groups.
Her passion for strengthening the community is found in the many boards she serves on including the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Greater Duluth, Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund and Strategic Resources Group.
Laura and her husband Todd spend their free time chasing their young daughters through their daily activities and adventures.

John Strange
President & CEO, St. Luke's
Since 1996, John Strange has provided leadership at St. Luke’s in the role of President/CEO. He came to St. Luke’s in 1992 as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance.
Prior to joining St. Luke’s, Mr. Strange moved his way up the ranks at Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Wisconsin, and, after 14 years with this organization, left the position of Executive Vice President to join St. Luke’s.
As St. Luke’s President/CEO, Mr. Strange has led a highly-qualified, dedicated workforce in not only bringing high-tech, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to St. Luke’s, but also in delivering health care with St. Luke’s hallmark of compassionate care of each patient. Mr. Strange leads with St. Luke’s mission always in mind: The Patient Above All Else.
Mr. Strange earned a Bachelor of Science degree with two majors, Business Administration and Economics, from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1972 and a Master’s Degree from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee in 1985.
Mr. Strange lives in Canosia Township, just outside Duluth, with his wife. They have two daughters.
