The Northspan Group is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(4) business and community development firm located in Duluth, Minn. Since 1985 we have been providing professional, fee-based services and technical support to Northeastern Minnesota’s economic development community, private businesses and organizations, and local units of government. We specialize in financing and funding development, facilitation of major economic adjustment and growth management initiatives, strategic planning, organizational development, business valuation and succession planning, and high quality economic development data and analysis.
Northspan works closely with the Area Partnership for Economic Expansion (APEX) in managing the region’s talent match-making tool NORTHFORCE, an online repository of business job openings and job seeker’s resumés. Our talent community manager is concentrating her efforts toward attracting, managing, placing, enriching, and retaining highly-skilled talent, targeting businesses that offer quality, well-paying jobs and abundant opportunity for personal advancement.
Northspan oversees the region’s economic development portal, NorthlandConnection.com, which displays information from commercial and industrial properties to community demographics to our area’s labor force. We also manage the Upper Minnesota Film Office, which promotes northeastern Minnesota as a location for contract filming of movies, documentaries, commercials, and related video media productions.
