Ulland Bros celebrates centennial

Over a century ago, brothers Oscar and Palmer Ulland started a business venture in road construction called Ulland Brothers , Inc. Recently discovered historical ledgers from the company confirmed that a Newry Township grading job June 3, 1922, was the brothers' first-ever road construction project.

"For those of you not familiar with Southern Minnesota, Newry is a township in Freeborn County directly north of Moscow Township in which the Ulland homestead is located," Ulland Brothers, Inc. President Jeff Carlson wrote in a letter to employees and retirees of the company. "We commemorated our 100-year anniversary on June 3, 2022, in typical Ulland Brothers style, making hay while the sun is shining and provided our employees a hot meal on the go. Oscar and Palmer wouldn’t want it any other way."
