Frank Frederickson is Vice President – Customer Experience & Engineering Services within Minnesota Power, where he leads talented teams that serves all customer accounts and relationships for its residential, commercial, wholesale, and industrial customers and project engineering support for the company’s capital investments.  Frank’s prior experience includes General Manager of MP’s Hydro & Biomass Renewable Operations, Manager of Minnesota Power’s Rapids Energy Center, Project Manager of ALLETE Clean Energy’s Thunder Spirit Wind Project, and Project Development Leader for Minnesota Power’s Bison Wind Farms.  Frank has also led technology development activities for Wind, Biomass, and Solar generation resources, and compliance reporting for renewable energy programs.

Frank is originally from International Falls, MN, and his education includes a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities Campus.  Prior to joining Minnesota Power in 2007, Frank was employed by 3M Company as a Senior Process Development Engineer where he worked in new product development and is a named inventor on 16 granted US patents and four pending patent applications. 

Frank’s public engagement includes service on the boards of the Iron Mining Association, APEX, Minnesota Forest Industries, Mater Dei Apostolate and the finance councils for the Catholic Diocese of Duluth and of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.  Frank and his wife Mary live in Duluth with their six children, Ruth, George, Miriam, Catherine, Lucy, and Fulton and spends his free time enjoying outdoor activities with his family.
