Innovation Spurs Growth

Steve Jobs once said, “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”

Minnesota is home to many innovators. The state ranked seventh nationally for its Tech & Science Strength and fourth in Patents Issued per 100,000 People in the 2016 State Technology and Science Index by the Milken Institute.

The Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) launched a campaign early this year to celebrate Minnesota’s emerging technologies and discoveries. #InnovateMN highlights exciting business success stories. The goal is to inspire entrepreneurs and ultimately spur economic growth.

In addition, DEED has resources for startups and entrepreneurs, such as the Angel Tax Credit Program and the Emerging Entrepreneur Loan Program.
