CSS continues search for next president

The top choice for the next president of the College of St. Scholastica has taken himself out of the running, and the remaining candidate no longer will be considered, according to the school’s search committee.

After months of searching, in November two men had remained as choices to replace president Larry Goodwin, who will retire this summer after an 18-year tenure, the longest-serving leader in the college’s history.

The two finalists visited the campus and met with students, staff and faculty in November. While no offer had been made, one candidate had been chosen by the search committee for recommendation to the college’s board of trustees, said Jessica Durbin, co-chairwoman of the committee. She would not say which candidate.
