Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic Pediatrics Department receives statewide award for vaccinations

The Minnesota Department of Health has recognized the Pediatrics Department at the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic for having the highest immunization rates in the state for its clinic size.

The clinic, located at 420 E. First St. was recognized in both childhood (birth to age 2) and adolescent (ages 13-17) categories. The vaccination rates were 87.8% for children, and 43.6% for teens. The rates are based on Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC) data as of August 1, 2015.

The high immunization rates are the result of teamwork between both the clinical outreach staff and the Pediatrics Department.
