LSBE to sponsor first Entrepreneurship and Innovation Conference

The Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE), at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), will hold its first LSBE Entrepreneurship and Innovation Conference on Oct. 1. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the UMD Kirby Ballroom.
The conference will cover a variety of topics relevant to entrepreneurship, drawing from the experience of 15 successful entrepreneurs in the areas of high tech, product innovation, venture capital, crowd funding, food ventures and renewable energy.
Speakers will include UMD alumnus Dan Fishback. who will discuss 10 ways to raise capital, during the morning keynote. Alumna Allison Sen will talk about her work in renewable energy in Africa and India during the afternoon keynote. Other presenters include entrepreneurs from Sport Ngin, Jonny Pops, Epicurean, Old World Meats,Superior Thermawood, CraftFund, Bent Paddle Brewing, Lake Superior Brewing and Castle Danger Brewery.
