Involta, which operates two data centers in Duluth, announced a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Data Recovery Services, LLC (DRS), a managed-services and IT consulting firm operating in Ohio and Pennsylvania. With minimal overlap in service offerings and territory, the agreement leverages the capacities and strengths of both companies to better serve mid-market and enterprise-class clients, Involta said.

“DRS and Involta share many important values and approaches to our businesses,” said Bruce Lehrman, Involta CEO. “Both DRS and Involta are built on enterprise-grade technologies, offer superior customer service and have tremendous rapport with our clients. Most important, both DRS and Involta clients deeply trust us as strategic IT partners. We are excited to welcome them to the Involta team.”

“This move positions Involta as a powerhouse in the Ohio market,” Carl Gordulic, DRS president and COO, said in the announcement. Acquired assets include more than 5,500 fiber miles in Ohio and western Pennsylvania, two Youngstown-based data centers and data center space in Pittsburgh currently leased by DRS
