Maurices post strong quarterly, YTD sales, profits

Duluth-based Maurices posted strong results for the third quarter ending April 25. Third quarter profits were $47.4 million, or 17.2 percent of sales, a 42 percent increase versus the same quarter of 2014.

Sales increased $23.2 million, or 9.2 percent, to $274.9 million versus $251.7 million for the same quarter last year. Comparable sales for the quarter increased by 6 percent, driven by both strong brick and mortar and digital growth compared with last year.

The company said it’s maurices’ fifth consecutive quarter of positive comparable store sales.
