The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities department and Minnesota Power, with consultants LHB Corp., are planning utilities upgrades in downtown Duluth on West Michigan Street between 1st and 3rd Avenue West.

The City of Duluth and LHB will be hosting a public input and informational meeting on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the LHB office (located at 21 West Superior Street, Suite 500) regarding the utility reconstruction project planned for 2017.

The city is partnering with Minnesota Power to replace electrical ducts, gas infrastructure, and water mains in this segment of Michigan Street. Similar utility upgrades were made on West Michigan Street last summer from 3rd Ave West to 5th Ave West. The meeting will address the scope and schedule of the project and questions or concerns from the public and downtown businesses.
