APEX Spring Conference Season

Shared Services and Outsourcing

In early March, APEX attended Shared Services and Outsourcing Week in Orlando. The conference is the world's largest and longest running event for shared services, outsourcing, transformation and global business services professionals. The conference provided a platform to meet and exchange ideas and detailed sessions on everything from implementing RPA, to cross-generational talent management, to climbing the value-chain and back. In addition to attending informative sessions, APEX met with industry leading service providers at the tradeshow booth.

Site Selectors Guild

In mid-March, APEX attended the Site Selectors Guild conference in Tucson with Minnesota Marketing Partnership members. The Guild is the only association of the world’s foremost professional site selection consultants. Guild members provide location strategy to corporations across the globe and for every industry, sector, and function. APEX was able to share regional information with over 30 consultants at the event.

Duluth and St. Louis County Days at the Capitol

On March 30, 2017, APEX participated in the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Duluth and St. Louis County Days at the Capitol celebration. APEX’s Sandy Johnson, Manager of Member Relations and Administration, participated in both the lobby efforts and the evening reception. Brian Hanson, President and CEO, and Ian Vincent, Senior Business Developer also attended the reception.

AeroMart Suppliers Forum for the Aeronautic and Space Industry

APEX attended AeroMart in early April with Great River Energy and the IRRRB. Hosted in Montreal, the supply chain event that brings together aerospace and defense primes, tier suppliers and contract-manufacturers. Engineering, procurement, supply chain, fabrication, commodity teams, suppliers and service providers will meet through pre-arranged one-on-one meetings. APEX and our partners participated in over 20 meetings in two days at the event.

Industrial Asset Management Council

APEX attended the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) Spring Forum in early April. IAMC is the leading trade association for corporate real estate executives focused on the needs of an industrial portfolio. Attendees are typically managing manufacturing and/or distribution of properties throughout North America, or real estate consultants, economic developers, and site selectors that serve them. The Forums provide top-notch executive leadership and professional development training and collaborative sharing of best practices, along with significant networking opportunities.

International Biomass Conference

APEX attended the International Biomass Conference (IBC) in early April. The IBC is an opportunity to network with industry leaders from around the world as well as engage in sessions designed to detail growth in the biomass sector. APEX as well as several investor-members and regional industry leaders participated in informative conference sessions, and visited an active tradeshow floor.

Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration Conference

On April 17-19, 2017, the 90th Annual Meeting of the Minnesota Section of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) Conference was held in Duluth. The event is the top performing regional minerals conference in the Midwest featuring a wide range of session topics addressing pressing industry issues, emerging industry trends and latest industry technology developments. APEX and several investor-members were in attendance.
