Essentia Health Fit-n-Fun program to feature Beardsley, Lee

Olympian Dick Beardsley and Minnesota runner Emma Lee will be the featured speakers for the Essentia Health Fit-n-Fun Middle School Assemblies.

Beardsley and Lee will give presentations to students at Superior Middle School at 2 p.m. today and Ordean East Middle School at 8:45 a.m. Thursday.

Dick Beardsley is known as one of the best marathon runners in U.S. history and one of the best Minnesota distance runners. Winner of Grandma’s Marathon in 1981 and 1982, Beardsley held the course record with a time of 2:09:37 for 33 years. After a series of accidents, injuries and life-altering events, Beardsley remains a prominent figure in the running community and travels around the world to share his amazing story.
