Northland Foundation awards 35 grants totaling $342,700

The Northland Foundation announces that 35 grants were approved between April 1 and June 30, 2017. The awards for the quarter, which concludes the Foundation’s fiscal year, totaled $342,700 and support an array of projects and programs that nurture children, youth, and families; help individuals to build assets and work to become and remain self-reliant; promote connections between younger and older generations; and support thriving communities in the seven-county Arrowhead Region.  

Of the 35 grants, five awards totaling $117,000 were made to child care organizations located in Esko, Duluth, McGregor, Tower, and Two Harbors. Funding was provided by the State of Minnesota, with the support of the Northland Foundation, to expand the availability of child care in the region.
