IKONICS enters dye sublimation market

Duluth-based IKONICS Corp. has received a large order for its new dye sublimation product, through which high-quality images can be printed on a variety of materials using low-cost equipment.

“Dye sublimation is an exciting new market for us, and we are entering it with a unique patent pending technology that gives the customer capabilities beyond what are currently available,” CEO Bill Ulland said in a company announcement. “Dye sublimation is a dynamic and growing market that complements our IKONICS Imaging abrasive etching technology.”

The product, called SubTHAT!, is manufactured in Duluth.
